Kontraktova Ploshcha (Square)

Kontraktova Ploshcha or Kontraktova Square is on a Blue Metro Line in an old five-story brick buildings district of Kyiv, an important marketplace and business area.Kontrak-26

Located within five-minutes walk from the metro's exit, one of the most prominent landmarks, known to every citizen of Kyiv, is a sculpture of a Ukrainian 18th century poet and philosopher Grygoriy Skovoroda. The monument is surrounded with benches, which coupled with its close proximity to the metro, makes it the favorite place to fix an appointment.

Across the road from the monument to Grygoriy Skovoroda is located a Kyiv-Mohyla University named after a Kyiv prominent metropolitan Peter Mohyla, an influential Orthodox pundit with deep knowledge in theology and a reformer.
